Castlewood is led by Michael Leahey, a recognized expert in the intersection between public and private to maximize social impact, particularly related to housing, sustainable development and clean energy, and land preservation. Throughout his 20+ year career, Michael has worked with a diverse group of clients, from public to private, small to large, both domestically and internationally.

Michael brings a sense of creativity to financing, which is reflected in the solutions that he brings to each project. Some of those financial solutions include expertise in traditional financing through banks and private lenders, and some are more complex, including municipal bonds, tax increment finance, property assessed clean energy, renewable and historic tax credits, and debt and equity structure.

Beyond his social impact work, Michael is passionate about public speaking, travel, and food.
